Statement of Faith

God

We believe in one God, Creator and Lord of the universe, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He governs all things according to the purpose of His will. We believe God created us in His own image and revealed himself in Jesus Christ on earth for the redemption of the world.

Jesus Christ

We affirm the deity of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, co-equal with God the Father. He came in the world in human form to bring salvation through personal faith and trust in Him as Savior and Lord. We believe the biblical record of Jesus Christ’s entry into the world born of a virgin, His sinless human life, and the Bible record of His deeds, words, miracles, vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, mediatorial intercession, and His personal return.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that God the Holy Spirit is a person co-equal and co-eternal with God the Father and God the Son. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Father sent his Spirit to bear witness to His Son; without His witness ours is futile. Conviction of sin, faith in Christ, new birth, and Christian growth are all His work.

The Bible

We affirm the divine inspiration, truthfulness and authority of both Old and New Testament Scriptures in entirety as the only written Word of God, without error in all that it affirms, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice. We also affirm the power of God’s Word to accomplish His purpose of salvation. The message of the Bible is addressed to all mankind. God’s revelation in Christ and in Scripture is unchangeable. The Holy Spirit still speaks today through the Bible, to people of every nation, culture, and race.

Evangelism

We affirm that evangelism is the sharing with others the good news that Jesus Christ lived and died for our sins, that He was raised from the dead and that He reigns with God the Father and offers forgiveness of sins and the comforting liberating presence of the Holy Spirit to everyone who repents and believes. Evangelism is the proclamation of Christ as Savior and Lord and the means of persuading people to come to Him personally and thus be reconciled to God.

Salvation and Faith

We believe that there is only one Savior, Jesus Christ, and only one Gospel for all mankind whose fellowship and communion with God was destroyed by sin. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and men or women. There is no other name by which we can be saved or restored to fellowship. Those who reject Jesus Christ, repudiate the joy of salvation and condemn themselves to eternal separation from God. To proclaim Jesus as “the Savior of the world” is to proclaim God’s love for everyone and to invite anyone to respond in wholehearted personal commitment of repentance and faith to Him as their Savior and Lord.

The Kingdom of God and the Church

The kingdom of God is the rule of God and ultimately every force that resists the will of God will be overcome. The Church, though not identical to the kingdom of God, is a manifestation of the kingdom of God.

We believe the Church is the community of God’s people. It is the body of Christ composed of believers and as such in any community, the Church is made up of all who have accepted Christ and committed their lives to Him. The Church is not an organization but an organism and therefore can not be identified with any particular culture, political or social system, or human ideology. The Church is at the very center of God’s cosmic purpose.

Return of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly, in power and glory, to consummate His salvation and judgment. We further affirm that the promise of His coming is an additional incentive for evangelism and holy living until He comes.
