Jesus Loves the Little Children (that’s why we write picture books!)
This webinar is an introduction to writing picture books for children. Part 1 of the webinar (the first 60 minutes) will answer the questions:
- Why write for children?
- What do we need to know about children?
- What themes and topics are suitable for them?
Part 2 (the final 30 minutes) will touch on:
- The Elements of a Picture Book
- Guidelines and Tips in Writing Picture Books
- Steps in Writing Your Story
The webinar will go 90 minutes and participants are welcome to stay as long as they can.
Yna S. Reyes has been engaged in the creative work of book publishing for more than 30 years. She is the former Publishing and Communications Director of OMF Literature, a Christian publishing company in the Philippines. She is also a children’s book author, a devotional writer, and a book editor. Her latest picture book, Imbisibol, was published by OMF Literature in cooperation with Room to Read, an international NGO focusing on children’s literacy. It has been translated to Lao, Vietnamese, and Arabic. Yna is a volunteer trainer for Media Associates International and serves as secretary of the MAI-Asia board. She collects picture books, bookmarks, and postcards.
